God save the Brits! Because they, and their infamous nodder, are here:

Skipper Andy “Dandy” Cornah

Andy CornahWhere are ya from and where did you sail in college? Sevenoaks in England and Southampton University

What did you learn to sail in? Quite a fetching red all in one splash suit from what I can remember. And occasionally shorts and T shirt in the Summer.

What is your pre-regatta ritual? Rum, circuits, visualisation, exaggeration and procrastination.

Sail with a significant other? Maaaaates

Hardest or favorite part of Team Racing? My favourite part of team racing is all of it. I love team racing, and sailing, it’s great.

Favorite Baldwin Cup Moment? Realising it was an event where we were encouraged to sail sitting on a cushion…….

And the pelicans, I really like the Pelicans.

If your boat had a theme song, what would it be?
Woof

Who do you think is your biggest competition? Why? Ourselves and the Rum Gods

Why will your team win this year’s Baldwin Cup? Cos the Rum Gods will smile on us…….

Crew Scott “TBD” Millar

Scott Millar

Where are ya from and where did you sail in college? Northern Ireland, the nice bit of Ireland, and at Edinburgh

What did you learn to sail in? Toppers, Mirrors and Volvo 70’s

What is your pre-regatta ritual? Arriving late having failed to go on the early morning run I promised myself I was going to do the night before.

Oh and praying to Captain Lad, the master of all things fun, and thanking him for the previous night.

I strive to make an entrance like this one day:

Sail with a significant other? Significant other, who needs one of those?, Woof

Hardest or favorite part of Team Racing? Hardest – Not having a clue about team racing. Favorite – Still winning events.

Favorite Baldwin Cup Moment? Hearing the stories from distant lands as told by previous RTYC competitors.

If your boat had a theme song, what would it be?

Who do you think is your biggest competition? Why? Myself, 25¢ beers and an inability to say no to anything.

Why will your team win this year’s Baldwin Cup? WOOF WOOF WOOOOOF

Skipper Ben “Bam Bam” Field

Ben FieldWhere are ya from and where did you sail in college? London, England, and Southampton

What did you learn to sail in? Optimist and Mirror dinghies

What is your pre-regatta ritual? A few cheeky beers to loosen the wheels and blow away those cobwebs.

Sail with a significant other? Families that sail together, fail together

Hardest or favorite part of Team Racing? Hardest part of team racing has to be remembering which tack you are on.
Favourite part – actually remembering the tack I am on!

Favorite Baldwin Cup Moment? Ultimately there isn’t much not to love about the Baldwin! I am partial to the lovely cushions on the Harbour 20’s – so comfortable to team race.

If your boat had a theme song, what would it be?

Who do you think is your biggest competition? Why? The beer. Every time I try and take it on, it always seems to beat me! It has the strength of an Ox!

Why will your team win this year’s Baldwin Cup? If she makes it to Newport Beach, our yellow nodder will give our team the inner strength to win. Even when you lose on the water, the nodder ensures you win on land. She is one of the greatest assets in team racing history! Definitely a bonus despite not being washed since her introduction in 2007! Coming second on the last visit to the Baldwin, definitely need to make amends!

Tom HeywoodWhere are ya from and where did you sail in college? Laaaandan and Cambridge

What did you learn to sail in? One never stops learning. My first foray, however, was in a mirror dinghy on Piddinghoe pond.

What is your pre-regatta ritual? I like to call it the Earl of Souchong. 2 bags of Earl Grey, 1 Lapsang Souchong, water must be freshly boiled. Brew for approximately 2 minutes, dash of milk (absolutely no sugar under any circumstances). Delicious.

Sail with a significant other? Significant other, who needs one of those?

Hardest or favorite part of Team Racing? Starting is very tricky isn’t it. Jolly good fun though. I do love finishing, especially when we’ve sometimes won the race.

Favorite Baldwin Cup Moment? The is a rumour going around the British camp that Justin Law is sailing at this event, is this true?! I’d love to get his autograph.

If your boat had a theme song, what would it be?
Land of hope and glory – music by Edward Elgar and lyrics by A. C. Benson. The following clip (particularly from 7.10 onwards) is a beautiful rendition:

Who do you think is your biggest competition? Why? Greywood – my occasional alter ego, his incessant grumpiness stops my true brilliance shining through.

Why will your team win this year’s Baldwin Cup? Andy Cornah, Andy Cornah, with his tiny little [part] and his cheeky little smile, Andy Cornah is a… World class team racer

Skipper Sam “Captain” Littlejohn

Where are ya from and where did you sail in college? London and Bath

What did you learn to sail in? Toppers, Miracles and RS200’s

What is your pre-regatta ritual? A quick dock side warm up inspired by Shaun T:

Sail with a significant other? Families that sail together, fail together

Hardest or favorite part of Team Racing? I live for sailing big finals where you have to raise your game!

Favorite Baldwin Cup Moment? I heard many great things about the Baldwin Cup and can’t wait to get on those $.25 beers!

If your boat had a theme song, what would it be?
We always listen to some of the best musicians Britain has to offer to ensure we are focused on what matters most….

Who do you think is your biggest competition? Why? The standard of all the US teams is extremely high – however as always the greatest competition is yourself

Why will your team win this year’s Baldwin Cup? The social? – As we always do!

The sailing? —Losing just isn’t an option that we ever consider.

Crew Dicken “Dicks” Maclean

Dicken MacleanWhere are ya from and where did you sail in college? London and Southampton

Favorite Baldwin Cup Moment? I’m a Baldwin virgin, the hype this side of the pond is for some big parties!

If your boat had a theme song, what would it be?

Who do you think is your biggest competition? Why? The barman!

Why will your team win this year’s Baldwin Cup? With the sentiments of ‘the harder you hit it the more you win’ I don’t see what can go wrong!
