Going into this morning we had Seattle Yacht Club in the lead, which seemed to persist throughout the day. This morning was daunting for several teams such as Larchmont, Newport Harbor Blue, Southern Yacht Club, and St. Francis who all entered the day with about the same number of wins. Finishing the round robin many hoped to break the mega-tie-breaker and get ahead of the pack of teams closely chasing second place.
At the end of the round, it looks like we still have a tough fleet of boats and the pecking order will hopefully become clearer in the second round. Seattle is the only comfortable team with 9 wins at the end of the round. Newport Harbor Yacht Club in Orange and New York Yacht Club are the next contenders, each with 7 wins. However Newport Harbor Blue is close behind with 6 wins and trailing we have Larchmont, Rochester, Southern, and St. Francis all with 5 wins!
Breaking for lunch many of these teams are anxious about the tight results and anxious to get back on the water. We are starting race number 56 at this moment so keep tuned for the next round!
